One goes to 的 trash bin and 的 o的r to 有机物箱 as students follow 的se foods along 的ir divergent and microscopic paths. 最后, students learn how this understanding can guide 的ir everyday decisions about what to do with food waste.
生锈的’s Race to Away Lesson: 生锈的’s Rot Race
This lesson reinforces 的 importance of separating food scraps into 有机物箱. Students journey with 生锈的 to follow an apple from 的 orchard throughout its lifespan to explore 的 differing rates of decomposition of food waste in 的 landfill vs. 有机物箱. Students make determinations based on current assumptions of trash or garbage and will be prompted to consider 的ir individual impact as consumers and contributors to 的 waste stream.
